MY PAST
I was born and raised in Garden City, Michigan as Debra Zychowicz by two wonderful parents, Peter and Eleanor. Today they are both deceased but still with me in my heart and as my Guardian Angels.
The picture on the right was taken when I was sixteen years old. I made a silly bet with my best friend, Kathy to lose weight. I won the $1 bet. I never let her forget it. Kathy is still my best friend today after over forty years. We went to high school together and then college. Some of my most memorable experiences growing up were with her. We both owed Mustangs, enjoyed camping in Canada, the same brand of beer, skateboarding, rock concerts and Sanders hot fudge ice cream puffs. It was great being a teen. Carefree, no worries and lots of fun. To bad everyone has to grow up and become an adult. Then comes marriage, a full time job and raising kids which brings me to the next few decades of my life. |
A LITTLE ABOUT THE AUTHOR TODAY
I have been married and divorced twice and moved several times within Michigan often traveling to many other states including my three favorite which are Hawaii, Las Vegas and Florida. My favorite vacation is definitely my trip to Disney World with my awesome grandson Jordan and two of my daughters. He is the handsome blonde hair, blue eyed little guy pictured with me at my daughters wedding in August 2012. He has my same fair skin, happy smile and mischievous twinkle in his eye as I do. He is also one of my inspirations for writing my children's book series called The Adventures of Matilda and Molly. The first book will be published hopefully next year after my book entitled 27 is published later this year. I will keep you posted.
My daughters and grandchildren have been my motivation to write. I do my best writing at my home where I have lived in Shelby Township for the last twenty-one years. My favorite spot is to sit in my sunroom overlooking my pond and quiet backyard. I love my early mornings just after seven a.m. sitting in my favorite white wicker chair, drinking a cup of hot, rich coffee with sweet, hazelnut creamer and writing away the day on my laptop. My life has been a long journey with multiple marriages, raising six children and constant drama. Accidents, drama, and the unexpected are all part of my life. It has certainly never been boring. It has inspired me to write my first book and become an author. I have accomplished my dream and now have the need to carry on through more books with a bigger goal in mind. |
MY FUTURE GOALS
My goal is to continue to write both children's books, and murder mysteries with romance. The next book, called 27 is the first book in the series of murder mysteries with the main characters of D.W. (Dexter Wayne), P.J. (Jade Peters), and Sweetie. Together they will add a touch of humor and romance to my books.
In book one, there is a killer amongst the small town of Sugar Springs and the big city of Vegas. The townspeople are all frightened that they will be the next one killed on the killer's hit list. Twenty-seven people die. At first, investigators are baffled by the dead bodies collecting in the Vegas morgue and even consider a few of the deaths as mere accidents. But are they really? You'll have to read to find out if it is simply - murder!

My first children's book was published February, 2015.
Come meet Matilda and Molly who are often referred to as the "Double Trouble Sisters" by their dad. Each day they use their imaginations to explore with the help of Jayden, a next-door neighbor and also Matilda's best friend.
Book 1 is a fun adventure that leads the three young explorers through the castle into the black forest. They follow a treasure map that leads them past dangerous animals, quicksand and into a dark cave.
Will they find the missing Easter treasure? Read the story to discover if they are brave enough to survive and return home.

My new murder mystery was published, June 2015.
27 The Sugar Springs Mysteries: Book One is the first in a new series of murder mysteries. Chief Dexter Wayne, better known as D.W. adds a bit of daily humor into a murder investigation. His partner, Jade Peters, referred to as P.J. is the opposite and "dead serious" when it comes to catching the killer, if there is one. Accidents or murder is the mystery. Enjoy reading. |

I recently had two emails from readers who went on my Website and Blog to see if I had written any more books in my children's series. They previously ordered the other two books from Amazon.com. This is the 3rd book in my children's book series about the three explorers building a rocket to explore space and finding the missing planet. It is also for ages 7 to 9 in grades second to fourth. I apologize to my readers for not updating my site and adding any new info on my new books. I will make it my number one New Years Resolution to update more often. Thank you for your response from readers who inquired and wrote me from New Orleans and also Texas. Thank you for ordering my books and enjoy reading. Book four has been started but my writing has been delayed until spring due to a move into a new house this past July. Painting and putting in a new kitchen has been a lot of work and still not complete. I'm looking forward to getting back into writing.
